“XPSC Chairman’s `Report
What a year
Just over 12 months ago I floated the idea of making the club it’s own stand alone organisation and it is sometimes hard to believe how far we have come in that time
Hats off to everybody in the club that has stepped up and made it work. I must especially mention John Thompson who has been my sounding board over the last 12 months and has put in a lot of work behind the scenes and also my Youngest son Paul who has been a stalwart in his help on club nights and sorting our new club shirts
As a club numbers are growing, we are attending every action air Competition that takes place in the UK, and several abroad as well as taking top honours in most. Long may that continue
We have hosted 2 competitions over the last 12 months which have both been immensely successful and enjoyed by everybody that attended, and also made a little money form them, mainly down to the generosity of club members with their time. We do however need to do more and have secured a venue for level 3 competitions. This is in Leicester, which is a fair way to go, but it’s quite central to the country and big enough, best of all I may be able to wangle it as a feebie, so watch this space.
Our relationship with the HW&DRPC continues to improve. Their new chairman Phill is a great guy and cant help support us enough. Since he has come on board we have managed to get another set of keys, so the pressure is off me on occasions, which is very much appreciated. We are slowly dragging the shooting club into the 21st century and have even persuaded them that transferring the range fees is as goo if not better than putting the money in the wall safe they have to empty and then bank. We made some suggestions about putting up wires to separate areas on club nights and they have been willing to give us a relative free hand and do as we wish. There has also been a trial of alternate Wednesday evenings, mainly for rifle, and I am hopeful that will continue as time goes on
Collaboration with the HW&DRPC saw us earlier in the year running a stand at the Armed Forces day, which was extremely successful. Not only did it put a few sheckles in the pot, but it also raised our profile locally, which is never a bad thing
We continue as a club to offer coaching to the highest level, and have over the course of the year gained several Range officers who are now fully qualified, and I have been assessed as an instructor, so can assess people for their safety assessments and competition licenses. I have also been assessed as a Chief Range officer, following a range masters seminar, more points ROing level 3’s and Range master is next. I know several club members are already booked on the next UKPSA Range officers seminar, great they are putting something back into the community
Hopefully the coming year will see us grow more, and have more people competing at the top of their game. As 2021 approaches fast, eyes are on the next AA world shoot, there is no reason for our little club not to do extremely well in the future

“XPSC Treasurer’s `Report 2019
I completely agree with Tim….. What a year we have had.
From a finance standpoint we have firmly double tapped the Alpha.
We now have a fund of nearly £1000 to invest in the clubs continuing, successful future, this is no mean feat even given the head start we had from Tim’s gracious donation of range equipment and we could not have to this point without everyone’s help.
The majority of our profit this year came from Range and Competition fees, whilst our highest running cost were the fees we pay to our hosts, the rifle club. As it should be in my humble opinion.
Other outgoings have included circa £100 for 2 years of web and email hosting and a small investment in card payment equipment. Other general expenses have been tools, paint, wood and membership cards…… and….. let’s not forget targets….
We stayed true to our roots in that we have not made a large profit from anything, we have put on competitions at prices reflecting the cost, and provided probably the most recognisable club shirts, thank you Paul, in the UK.
The shirts are so good everybody bought one, I believe this was also because they were affordable at £35! To give an example, Multi-gun Syndicate shirts are £55! Nearly twice the price!
We have yet to collect all membership fees for this financial year so far, so I hope this balance will increase before the end of our financial year.
We invested time, but no money other than cost of membership cards, in a new internet based membership management system, which though not as pretty as the UKPSA system, is more automated and integrated. Managing memberships is now a very simple, non-time consuming job, and I hope that the Secretary can now take over control of this platform in the coming year.
I would like to thank Tim for his continuing efforts as chairman and patient gunfather, Paul for all of his hard work in ensuring we have something to shoot and the rest of the committee for their continued support – especially for listening when I need a rant or have a panic attack because I missed a decimal point somewhere….
To close, I would just like to say that I sincerely hope that in the coming year we can use our tested,
proven financial and membership solutions as a model to help other clubs not only get off the ground but thrive!
Thank you for your time and thank you for allowing me to input into the club this year.
I will now go into the figures in a bit more detail (see attached reports).

- Training
1 day safety Assessment will be run soon. A 2 day safety course will be run in the future.
Club will make it’s venue available to the AA world shoot squad director.

- Using the range apart from Tuesdays
Club will continue opening alternate Wednesdays from rifle/ two gun.
Opening the second Wednesday will be considered, based on demand.
Club will open some Sundays but only if enough demand is confirmed in advance. Bookings will be taken before an opening is confirmed.
- Target Shooting Show – November 16 – 17th at Stoneleigh Park
The intention is to get a stand with as many AA clubs as possible and produce some joint literature to promote all clubs. Look at setting up a range similar to that at the Armed forces day.

- Growth plans
Do more local events such as fete’s and fairs to raise local profile. Run events similar to the armed forces day.
Modify and increase club kit to make setup on club nights easier for all.
Including purchasing club drill, modifying baricades with new feet. Setup a new wire at the bottom of the range and put carabeeners/ hooks on all the tarps/ curtains.
Increase club membership by 50% in the next 12 months.
